Abstract

Cutaneous signs and symptoms are important because they may represent the most prominent, earliest, or only evidence of sexually transmitted disease. AIDS and HIV infection are increasingly serious problems of adolescence, and the recognition of non-AIDS STDs in adolescents now has the added importance of identifying a population at high risk for HIV infection.
