Abstract

There is new evidence that the most common method for assessing risk of CVD--the Framingham Risk Estimate or FRE--fails to identify a significant number of women who could benefit from aggressive preventive therapies. As a result, investigators are urging clinicians to supplement the FRE with other screening methodologies, at least in some cases.
