Abstract

The absorption of glucose flavazole was measured in the ultraviolet and visible regions of the spectrum. Three maxima were observed: 267, 335, and 410 mmicro. The absorption at 410 mmicro follows Beer's law with 70 percent propanol or water as solvent. The molar absorptivities for glucose, maltose, and lactose flavazoles were the same and equal to 3.7 x 10(3).
