Abstract

Recent progress in hormone receptor studies has resulted from a multidisciplinary approach involving pharmacologists, endocrinologists and biochemists. Immunology provides both tools and a source of concepts for these studies. Endocrine and immune networks share important features which become recognized both by the analysis of autoimmune diseases and of conventionally induced immune responses. The latest discoveries are discussed here.
