Abstract

MicroRNA-187 (miR-187) has been reported to be involved in the occurrence and development of several types of cancers; however, a role for miR-187 in osteosarcoma (OS) has not yet been reported. Here, miR-187 was found to be significantly downregulated in OS cell lines and tissue samples, and decreased miR-187 expression was shown to be correlated closely with the TNM stage and lymph node metastasis. miR-187 overexpression suppressed OS cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
