Socioeconomics and Applied Statistics initially referred to as Socioeconomic and biometrics division was created in the Kiboko National Range Research Station (NRRS) in 1983. This was about 13 years after the establishment of Kiboko NRRS in 1970. The rationale behind the creation of this division was that the ongoing research was not fielding good results.
