Abstract Inspired by Dr. Mae C. Jemison, the first African American woman astronaut, this essay employs an intersectional framework to illuminate how young Black girls, eight to ten years old, created visual artwork that foregrounded their embodied STEM knowledge, creativity, values, and innovation.
