Abstract

This article describes the importance of preparing the clinical environment to facilitate clinical instruction of undergraduate nursing students. Clinical competence of the faculty member, respect for the judgement and skills of nursing staff and the expectation that students, faculty and staff collaborate to enhance quality patient care all are important in developing positive learning experiences for students.
